2. Application

Applications will be accepted through the https://obsogrenci.karatekin.edu.tr/AdayLogin web address. Candidates are solely responsible for any consequences arising from incorrect information or preferences entered/uploaded in the Application Form.

3. Documents to be Uploaded to the Application System

• A copy of the bachelor`s and/or master`s degree diploma and its Turkish translation,
• A copy of bachelor`s and/or master’s transcript and its Turkish translation,

(For applicants to master`s and doctoral programs with English as the language of instruction, Turkish translations of the bachelor`s and/or master`s diploma and transcript are not required, provided that the original documents are issued in English.)

• C1 Certificate, if any
• A copy of the identity-related pages of the passport,
• Portrait photo

NOTE: In the letter of YÖK dated 04.07.2025 and numbered 43555, it was reported that registration for graduate programs can be made between 01 July and 30 November. Considering the course registrations in the Academic Calendar of our university end on October 10, 2025, students who register after October 10, 2025, will be enrolled in the preparatory class. Even if they have a Turkish language certificate, they will start graduate courses in the following spring semester.

Applications are to be admitted in accordance with the “Çankırı Karatekin University International Student Candidates` Application and Admission Directive for Graduate Programs”. The following conditions are required for applications.

Ø  For Master’s Degree (Programs Taught in Turkish):

• To hold a bachelor`s degree.
• A certificate demonstrating Turkish language proficiency at a minimum of C1 level, obtained from the Turkish language exam administered by Çankırı Karatekin University Language Education Application and Research Center (TÖMER) or a TÖMER recognized by Çankırı Karatekin University.

NOTE: Applicants who do not currently meet the Turkish language requirement may still apply. However, for these candidates (if admitted to a graduate program) to be able to register for courses, they must receive Turkish language education at the Çankırı Karatekin University Language Education Application and Research Center (TÖMER) and meet the Turkish language proficiency requirement at the C1 level within two (2) semesters (by the end of this period).

Failure to meet the C1 level Turkish language proficiency requirement within this period through a Turkish language exam administered by Çankırı Karatekin University Language Education Application and Research Center (TÖMER) or a TÖMER recognized by Çankırı Karatekin University will result in the termination of the student’s enrollment with the Institute.

NOTE: Candidates who graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s programs in Türkiye or abroad where the language of instruction is Turkish are exempt from the language requirement.

Ø For Master’s Degree (Programs Taught in English):

• To hold a bachelor`s degree.
• A certificate demonstrating a minimum score of 65 points from a central foreign language (English) exam held by Çankırı Karatekin University Language Education Application and Research Center (TÖMER) or OSYM.

NOTE: Documents proving an equivalent score from national/international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM are also valid.

NOTE: Applicants who do not currently meet the language requirement may still apply. However, for these candidates (if admitted to a graduate program) to be able to register for courses, they must receive English language education either at the Çankırı Karatekin University Language Education Application and Research Center (TÖMER) or at another institution which offers English education that its enrollment can be documented as well as approved by the University and must meet the English language proficiency requirement at a level of 65 points within two (2) semesters (by the end of this period).

Failure to meet the English language proficiency requirement of 65 points by the end of this period will result in the termination of the student’s enrollment with the Institute.

NOTE: Candidates who graduated from bachelor’s or master’s programs in Türkiye or abroad where the language of instruction is English are exempt from the language requirement.

Ø For Ph.D. Degree (Programs Taught in Turkish):

• To hold a master`s degree.
• A certificate demonstrating a minimum score of 55 from a central foreign language exam accepted by the Council of Higher Education, in an international foreign language recognized as equivalent by the relevant program.

NOTE: A document proving an equivalent score from international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM are also accepted. Candidates, who graduated from bachelor’s or master’s programs either in Türkiye or abroad whose language of instruction is in a foreign language, are exempt from foreign language requirement for doctoral programs. However, the Institutes may ask these students to meet the language requirement again if necessary.

• A certificate demonstrating Turkish language proficiency at a minimum of C1 level, obtained from the Turkish language exam administered by Çankırı Karatekin University Language Education Application and Research Center (TÖMER) or a TÖMER recognized by Çankırı Karatekin University.

NOTE: Applicants who do not currently meet the Turkish language requirement may still apply. 6. Documents for the final registration

• An approved copy of the original of the bachelor’s and/or master’s diploma or the officially approved Turkish translation by the notary or the Education Attaché of the Embassies of the Republic of Türkiye,
• An approved copy of the original of the bachelor’s and/or master’s transcript or the officially approved Turkish translation by the notary or the Education Attaché of the Embassies of the Republic of Türkiye,
• The original of the application form,
• Officially approved copy of the passport,
• A residence statement for educational purposes,
• 2 Portrait photos (taken within the last six months),
• Diploma recognition/equivalency certificate issued by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) for the bachelor’s and/or master`s diploma
• Bank receipt proving the tuition and education fees payment,
• For students with scholarships, an official letter from relevant government agencies or embassies of the student’s country that the tuition and education fees will be paid,
• Original or officially approved copy of the language document,
• It is mandatory for students to present a health report and for students, who do not have a valid social security in Türkiye, to have a health insurance for face-to-face education.

NOTE: Candidates will apply to our Institute in person on the specified dates with the documents required for registration.

7.   Turkish / English Proficiency Exam Dates

The dates of the exams for Turkish and English Proficiency will be announced on the website of the Institute of Graduate Studies after the final registration period.
